Geisel Closing Early September 9, 2016

Due to preparations for our annual Dinner in the Library event, the 1st Floor (lower level) of Geisel West, including the Media Services Desk and the Brody Collaborative Study Space, will close at noon. The entire building will close at 4pm; All users must be out of the Library by that time. We apologize for the inconvenience.


Look, A Book! Exhibition

A collection of fine press books, limited edition books, fine bindings, and one-of-a-kind artists’ books will be on display in Geisel Library Sept. 6 – Oct. 16. The exhibit is sponsored by the California Chapter of the Guild of Book Workers. Join us for the opening reception on Sept. 10 from 3-5pm!

Increase productivity and reproducibility of scientific research via JoVE. The Library recently licensed 6 additional journals--including Behavior, Chemistry, Engineering, and Environment--plus 2 years’ access to the Science Education Chemistry video collection.


R. P. Middlebrook's Historical Images

Explore images of locomotives, trains, and sections of track from the San Diego & Arizona Railway companies, photographed by locomotive engineer, R. P. Middlebrook. The SD&A short line railroad was established in 1906 to connect San Diego to a transcontinental rail link to the east.

Original drawings, political cartoons, and advertising art from beloved author Theodor Seuss Geisel, selected from UC San Diego’s Dr. Seuss Collection. On display in Geisel Library from July 20 through August 30, 2016.


Hail To The Chief! Presidential Papers: An Election Year Exhibition

Materials from the Library’s Special Collections & Archives written by, to, or about many of the 44 U.S. presidents—such as a facsimile of Abraham Lincoln’s handwritten autobiography—are on display in Geisel Library through August 31, 2016.
