Campus Closure Notice

UC San Diego Library services will not be available Thursday, December 23, 2021 to Sunday, January 2, 2022 as part of the campus winter break closure.  Interlibrary Loan (ILL) requests submitted during this time will be processed in the order received beginning January 3, 2022. No items will be due during the closure period.

Interlibrary Loan

Items obtained on loan usually arrive within 7 business days.  Articles are delivered electronically within 3 business days.  For more information about the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service, visit our FAQ page.

Submit Your Request

  • Option 1: Find items in UC Library Search and choose the Request through Interlibrary Loan link.
  • Option 2: Search one of the databases to find books or articles and place request using Get it at UC. Devices must be connected to the campus network for full-text access to Library-subscribed and purchased resources.
  • Option 3: Use the Request Form if you do not have a complete citation. The ILL office will assist with submitting the complete request.

Renew Your ILL Items 

  • On My Library Account, go to the LOANS tab and choose the item to renew.
  • Click on the Renew link associated with the item.
  • If the Renew option doesn't appear, this means the item is not available for renewal at that time.  Contact ill@ucsd.edu about other available options.
